The LA Times reports that Dem Bob Hertzberg is running for mayor of the city on “traditionally Republican themes.” And — in defiance of the “moral values” quota with which every paper seems to cover such stories — there’s nary a word of religion nor hot button issues such as gay marriage. That’s refreshing. Reminds us there was a time when the G.O.P had more on its mind than other people’s genitals. But is it good journalism?
