It’s a beautiful letter, and we take great pleasure in reading it — even though, to be fair, we think Kantor did her job. Wright’s basic complaint — “we spent two hours talking, and you didn’t think the same things were important that I did” — is the gripe of every journalistic subject who doesn’t get that the final edit belongs to the journalist, not the subject.
