Marissa Kantor: At the first God Blog Convention, which kicked off yesterday and runs through October 15, Christian God-bloggers have come together at Biola University to discuss how to spread the Word through the holy blogosphere. The registrants, to be capped at 300, are posted on GodBlogCon.com, and have been organized by 23-year-old Matt Anderson, who told Fox News that Christian bloggers are just looking for the right path to take. Paths in cyberspace? Apparently. Some are predicting a Christian-blogging revolution. The attendees are asked to “pray that the conference will ‘put on the armor of light,'” a reference to Romans 13:12. And with The Pew Internet & American Life Project reporting that nearly 30% of U.S. Internet users are blog readers, it may not be fate that the Christian bloggers are choosing to unite across the belief spectrum. Or are they? Joe Carter of The Evangelical Outpost recently announced his break out of the “evangelical ghetto” to coincide with GodBlogCon; his Church Directory of evangelical bloggers will now include “mere Christians.” Oh, as long as they affirm and adhere to the Nicene Creed. Seems that even evangelical cyberspace has boundaries.
