Marilou Braswell, the University of Georgia cheerleading coach fired last year after charges that she discriminated against a non-Christian cheerleaders, told a Christian business group that she’s fighting “God’s battle” and compared her religious persecution lawsuit against UGA to the biblical contest between David and Goliath. Braswell lost her job after reading a statement to the cheerleading squad, responding to the private complaints of Jaclyn Steele, a Jewish cheerleader who said she’d been pressured to attend Bible studies in Braswell’s home, and telling the team she’d been forced to add Steele to the squad.
