Conservative Australian columnist, Cliff Kincaid, warns that the American people should be paying attention to the Catholic Church’s other offense: facilitating the “foreign invasion” of the U.S. by supporting immigration reform.  In a Beckian rant that proves Kincaid needs to spend more time doing his own thinking, he nonetheless cynically crushes any stereotypes about critics of the Catholic Church.  Citing Breach of Faith: American Churches and the Immigration Crisis, a book by James “illegals-are-gang-members” Russell, a founding member of the xenophobic Catholics for a Moral Immigration Policy, Kincaid notes:

Russell traces the church’s involvement in the entry of illegal aliens into the U.S. to the Marxist-oriented “liberation theology” movement, also known as “social justice.” Russell particularly faults Jesuit Catholic institutions such as Georgetown University for adopting this approach and indoctrinating students to be in favour of liberalised immigration policies.

Russell is honest about the motivation behind these efforts, noting that the Catholic Bishops and their agencies, some of which get government money to provide services to illegal aliens, “benefit from immigration by increasing the number of Catholics in the United States.”

However “honest” Russell is about the church’s motivations regarding immigration, he and Kincaid can’t get past their own intrenched discrimination.  They may staunchly support separation of church and state, but for all the wrong reasons.
