A cottage industry in books debunking Dan Brown isn’t enough: now the author of the bestseller, The Da Vinci Code, gets his own Vatican-appointed cardinal, the Archbishop of Genoa, Tarcisio Bertone, who was clocked into work yesterday with an interview statement condemning the book as an absurd distortion of historical truth, full of “cheap lies,” and reminiscent of 19th Century anti-clerical pamphlets. Cardinal Bertone is scheduled to continue his debunking work in a series of public debates starting tomorrow in Genoa.
