Former Christian Coalition leader, Republican Wunderkind and self-proclaimed guerilla warrior, Ralph Reed, has taken preliminary steps towards a candidacy for the lieutenant governor’s office in Georgia — a somewhat ambiguous position that’s nonetheless attracting nearly as much attention as the upcoming governor’s contest due to speculation about Reed’s possible campaign. If it happens, it will be Reed’s first turn as an actual candidate, rather than his traditional role as coach and grassroots Christian conservative mobilizer, and his comrades apparently say it would be Reed’s first step towards fulfilling his presidential ambitions. But, as Reed might say, “‘You don’t know it’s over until you’re in a body bag.'”
